LAMP–AmazQ Workshop
Honoring Mariano Uria
A celebration of seven decades of groundbreaking contributions to quantum optics and quantum information, bringing together colleagues, collaborators, and friends to honor Mariano’s remarkable scientific legacy — and, after all these years, his long-awaited PhD.

Introduction
After more than seven decades of outstanding contributions to quantum optics and quantum information, we are delighted to gather the community to celebrate the scientific legacy of Mariano Uria.
Mariano’s work has profoundly shaped our understanding of quantum light, spanning the deterministic generation of large Fock states, non-Gaussian coherent states, quantum state tomography, multiphoton-added states, and quantum mirrors. His remarkable scientific career has been marked by a rare combination of theoretical insight, experimental ingenuity, and an apparently inexhaustible supply of new ideas.
This workshop brings together members of the LAMP at the University of Concepción, the Amazing Quantum laboratory at the University of Chile, and many of Mariano’s collaborators and colleagues, to celebrate his numerous contributions to the field and reflect on the legacy he leaves to future generations of quantum scientists.
As Mariano finally approaches the end of his PhD, we felt that it was only appropriate to organize the kind of workshop usually reserved for scientists whose careers have spanned several decades.
Please join us in honoring Mariano Uria, his science, his collaborations, and his remarkably long career.
